Acquisition Strengthens EPIC’s National Transportation Platform, Enhancing Trucking Relationships and Expanding Tailored Risk Solutions

We are proud to announce the acquisition of Sentry Transportation’s (“Sentry”) direct writing operation, expanding EPIC’s Transportation & Logistics. The Sentry team joins Interstate Motor Carriers, an EPIC company, significantly expanding the scale and expertise of EPIC’s national transportation platform while creating enhanced solutions for clients.

Sentry, one of the largest mutual insurance groups in the United States, has developed a strong trucking-focused business that works mainly through independent agencies, providing comprehensive solutions for both owner-operators and large fleets. The carve-out of this direct writing operation brings more than 500 clients – and the talented team that serves them to EPIC’s national transportation platform. By joining Interstate Motor Carriers, the team gains access to EPIC’s broad carrier and industry relationships, expanded offerings and national footprint.

“This acquisition directly advances our mandate to build a truly market-leading national Transportation & Logistics practice,” said Kristy Neal, senior vice president of strategic development for EPIC National Transportation & Logistics. “It strengthens our position in a critical market, enhances the value we can deliver to our mutual trucking clients and brings exceptional talent and decades of trusted industry relationships to our team.”

For more than 80 years, Interstate Motor Carriers has been a dedicated partner to the trucking industry, offering tailored insurance programs, flexible coverage options and risk management services designed exclusively for motor carriers. Interstate Motor Carriers has earned Sentry’s Agency of the Year award multiple times in recent years, underscoring the special relationship held with the carrier.

“The incoming team’s commitment to client service and specialized knowledge of trucking mirrors EPIC’s own priorities and strengthens our ability to support motor carriers of all sizes,” said Donna Ward, senior vice president, northeast transportation and trucking business and operations leader at EPIC. “We’re proud to equip them with the tools, market access and national scale to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. This acquisition unlocks opportunities to enhance coverage, provide broader solutions and meet the evolving needs of transportation clients.”
