Industry Veteran James R. Pierce Joins EPIC as Senior Advisor to Shape the Future of Natural Resources Practice
We are pleased to announce that James R. Pierce has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor to support the strategic growth and development of the Natural Resources practice.
Pierce brings a distinguished track record of leadership, innovation, and global expertise in the energy and risk advisory sectors. Over the course of his career, he has built and led some of the most respected businesses in the industry, earning a reputation as a visionary and trusted leader.
In his role, Pierce will help shape the strategic direction of EPIC’s Natural Resources practice, working closely with leadership to expand capabilities, recruit top-tier talent, and deliver innovative solutions to clients across the energy sector. His appointment marks a significant step in EPIC’s commitment to scaling its presence and impact in the Natural Resources space.

About James R. Pierce
Jim Pierce most recently served as Chairman of Marsh Global Energy and Power. Prior to that, Pierce was Chairman of JLT USA and a member of the executive committee of JLT Group in the UK. In years leading up to that role, he led Marsh’s global industry practices, including marine, aviation, construction, mining, infrastructure, and rail.
Pierce began his career at Johnson and Higgins, and after a stint at Marsh, he joined Energy Insurance International (EII), where he was one of the original partners. Under his leadership, EII became one of the leading energy brokers in the U.S., ultimately acquired by Aon, where he led marine and energy operations in North America.
A recognized thought leader, Pierce has spoken at major industry forums including RIMS, the World Petroleum Conference, and the Houston Energy and Marine Insurance Seminar. He currently serves as an advisor to the Gilbane Building Company and sits on the boards of the Sprott Focus Trust and Sprott Funds Trust.
